Pizza and Queso Dip: The Details

Pizza and Queso Dip, eh? Thought you were trying to eat healthier.” Those of you following along with this blog might have wondered exactly that.

OK, I’ll admit it. The choices we made yesterday weren’t the healthiest and most “real” choices we could have made. But, a closer look might reveal they weren’t as bad as they may seem either.

We ended up making two pizzas yesterday. One – a Thai steak pizza of sorts. Two – more traditional.

First, Jake marinated two rib-eyes in stir fry sauce and a little Worcestershire. Then he sliced up green onions, a red pepper, a yellow pepper, a sweet onion and some mushrooms. He cooked the steaks on the Weber. He wrapped to veggies in tin foil and cooked those on the grill too.

Meanwhile, I cooked up some pre-spiced ground sausage on the stove.

For the “Thai pizza” Jake used a some bottle peanut sauce on the pre-made crust and then layered on sliced steak, peppers, both kinds of onions, some mushrooms and mozzarella cheese.

For the traditional pizza we used pizza sauce on the pre-made crust and topped that with sausage, sweet onion, peppers, mushrooms and mozzarella cheese.

Nope, can’t talk my way out of this one. Velveeta and a can of Ro*tel. Unhealthy. Fake. Delicious.

Did you cook up anything tasty this weekend?
